● v2.4.13 · HifzIQ Pro

Science-Powered
Quran Memorisation

HifzIQ Pro brings spaced repetition, teacher dashboards, parent portals, attendance tracking, and school management together in one place — built on the same science that elite memory athletes use, aligned to the traditional three-session structure of hifz schools worldwide.

Core Concept

The Three Sessions

Every student’s day is structured around three review tiers, each serving a distinct role in moving an ayah from new → memorised → mastered. This mirrors the classical hifz system while applying the SM-2 spaced repetition algorithm to set each card’s next review date automatically.

Tier 1 — New
سَبَق

Sabaq — today’s new ayahs. Your teacher assigns how many ayahs you learn each day. These ayahs are brand new; you practise them until they reach your short-term memory.

Tier 2 — Recent
سَبَقِي

Sabqi — recently learned ayahs that are due for revision. These cards have been through at least one Sabaq session and need consolidation before reaching long-term memory.

Tier 3 — Mastered
مَنْزِل

Manzil — fully memorised ayahs on a rotating Juz cycle. Your teacher sets which Juz you review each day to keep the entire Quran fresh in long-term memory.

🔬
HifzIQ uses the SM-2 spaced repetition algorithm under the hood. Every time you grade a card, the system calculates how many days until you need to review it again — automatically scheduling harder cards more often and easier cards less frequently.
Onboarding

Getting Started

How you get access to HifzIQ depends on who set up your account. In all cases, you log in through the HifzIQ login page (/login/ or whatever your teacher / school configured).

🎓 As a Student

Receive your invite or register directly
Your teacher may send you a direct invite link, or you can register at /register/?role=student on the school site. Fill in your name, email, and a password.
Get linked to your teacher
Your teacher assigns you to their class after you register. You will see the dashboard straight away but lessons begin once your teacher assigns your first Sabaq.
Log in and open your Dashboard
Visit /dashboard/. Your three session tiles — Sabaq, Sabqi, and Manzil — will show as soon as there is something due. Start with Sabaq each day.

👩‍🏫 As a Teacher

Register with role “Teacher”
Use /register/?role=teacher or receive an invite from the site admin. Teachers are not active until the admin grants a subscription plan.
Choose a plan
Starter Teacher ($19/mo, 3 students) or Pro Teacher ($35/mo, 8 students). Payment via Razorpay — your account activates automatically after successful payment.
Add students and set up timetable
Go to WP Admin → HifzIQ Pro → My Students → Add Student. Then set a weekly schedule under My Schedule so the Today view populates correctly.

🏫 As a School

Register with role “School”
Use /register/?role=school. School accounts are pending until the HifzIQ admin activates your license and configures your seat count.
Complete school setup
The admin runs the School Setup wizard on your account — creating your school record, assigning teachers, setting up classes, and enabling fee tracking.
Access the School Dashboard
Schools log in and land on WP Admin → HifzIQ School. From there you manage teachers, students, classes, attendance, fees, and messaging all in one place.

Student · Sessions

Running Your Daily Sessions

Your teacher configures how many Sabaq ayahs you do per day, which sessions are required for your streak to count, and your Manzil Juz rotation. The system handles scheduling — you just focus on recitation.

Starting a Session

Tap the session tile
Tap Start Sabaq, Start Sabqi, or Start Manzil on your Dashboard. The tile shows how many cards are in the queue.
Recite each card
Each card shows you the Surah name and Ayah number. Cover the screen or look away and recite from memory. Then reveal to check.
Grade your recitation honestly
Select one of 5 grades (see grading guide below). The grade tells HifzIQ how well you remembered, and the algorithm schedules the next review accordingly.
Complete the session
Once all cards are graded, tap Complete Session. Your daily log updates, badges are checked, and your teacher can see the result.
💡
Session order matters. Always do Sabaq → Sabqi → Manzil in that order. Sabaq covers new material while your mind is fresh; Sabqi and Manzil reinforce what you already know.
Student · Grading

The 5-Point Grading Scale

Honest grading is the single most important habit in HifzIQ. Inflating your grades gives the algorithm a false picture and schedules reviews too far in the future — meaning you forget more. Grade truthfully every time.

5
Perfect — no hesitation
Recited instantly, no mistakes, correct tajweed. Algorithm gives the longest gap before next review.
4
Good — minor hesitation
Correct but paused briefly. Still a strong recall — review pushed forward.
3
Pass — recalled with effort
Got it eventually but struggled. Review scheduled sooner than grades 4–5.
2
Difficult — partially correct
Remembered some but made mistakes or needed a hint. Card flagged as weak.
1
Forgot — could not recall
Blank recall. Card is marked as a weakness and reviewed again very soon. Error count increases.
⚠️
Grades 1 and 2 increment your error count, which your teacher can see. Cards with 2+ errors are highlighted as weaknesses in the teacher and parent dashboards.
Student · Analytics

Progress & Analytics

Tap My Progress on your Dashboard to see a full breakdown of your hifz journey: total Manzil ayahs, Surahs completed, which cards are weak (error count ≥ 2), your session history over the past week, and your attendance rate. Everything updates live after each session.

🟢
Manzil Count
Total ayahs that have reached full Manzil status — your “memorised” library.
🟡
Sabqi Queue
Ayahs currently in the short-term revision pipeline, consolidating toward Manzil.
🔴
Weak Cards
Cards with 2 or more errors. These get higher priority in future sessions.
📊
Session History
Day-by-day log of correct / struggling / forgot counts across all session types.

Hifz Certificates

Once at least one complete Surah has reached Manzil status, a printable Hifz Certificate is available on your Dashboard. The certificate displays your name, the Surahs you have memorised, total ayah count, your review streak, and the school or teacher’s branding. Your teacher can also generate it for you from the admin panel.

🖨️
Certificates open in a print-ready full-page view. Use your browser’s Print → Save as PDF to save a copy or print it directly.
Student · Inbox

Messages & Inbox

Your teacher can send you messages — announcements, lesson reminders, or personal feedback — directly through HifzIQ. Check your inbox by tapping the messages icon on your Dashboard. You will see a notification badge when you have unread messages. You can read messages but cannot initiate new conversations — reply to your teacher through your usual channel (WhatsApp, email, etc.) if needed.

Teacher · Students

Managing Students

All student management happens in WP Admin → HifzIQ Pro → My Students.

Adding a Student WP Admin → My Students → Add Student

Enter student details
Fill in their display name and email address. HifzIQ creates a WordPress user with the hifziq_student role and links them to you automatically.
Student receives a welcome email
An email with a password-set link is sent automatically. Once they set their password, they can log in and see their dashboard.
Configure their settings
Open the student’s detail panel → Settings. Set their daily Sabaq limit (default 5 ayahs), required sessions, and Manzil Juz rotation.
🪑
Your plan has a seat limit (3 or 8 students). If you reach the limit, the Add Student form will show a warning. Upgrade your plan to add more students.

Student Settings

Daily Sabaq Limit — How many new ayahs the student learns per day (default 5). Increase only when the student is coping well with revision.

Required Sessions — Choose what counts toward the daily streak: Sabaq only, Sabaq + Sabqi, or All three. Most teachers use Sabaq + Sabqi.

Manzil Juz Cycle — Select which Juz numbers rotate for the student’s Manzil session. The system cycles through them daily so the whole memorised Quran stays fresh.

Reassigning a Student

Admins and school accounts can reassign a student from one teacher to another via WP Admin → HifzIQ Pro → Assign Roles. The student’s full history, grades, and cards transfer with them.

Teacher · Lessons

Assigning Lessons (Sabaq)

Teachers assign new Sabaq lessons to students from the Dashboard or the student detail panel. You specify the Surah and Ayah range; HifzIQ creates the cards and adds them to the student’s Sabaq queue.

Single Assignment

Open student detail
Click a student card on the Dashboard. The detail panel slides open showing their current queue, history, and a lesson assignment form.
Select Surah and Ayah range
Choose Surah from the dropdown and set the From / To ayah numbers. All ayahs in that range are added as individual cards.
Submit
Click Assign. The student sees the new cards in their Sabaq queue immediately on next dashboard load.

Bulk Assignment

Use Bulk Assign to give the same lesson to multiple students at once — useful for class groups all learning the same Surah. Select students using the checkboxes on the Dashboard, then click Bulk Assign and fill in the range.

Marking Sabaq as Heard Voice + Mark Heard

During an in-person class, you can mark a student’s Sabaq as “heard” directly from the student detail panel. This logs that you listened to the recitation today — separate from the student’s self-graded session. You can also upload a short voice note (feedback audio) that the student can listen to in their dashboard.

Teacher · Today

Today’s Classes

WP Admin → HifzIQ Pro → Today (or the Today shortcut on the Dashboard) shows every student you have scheduled for today based on your timetable. It is your working view during class time — you can mark attendance, hear Sabaq, add notes, and check session completion all from one page without clicking through individual student cards.

Quick Attendance
One-click Present / Absent / Late / Excused for each student in today’s list.
🎙️
Mark Sabaq Heard
Log that you personally heard the student’s recitation. Separate from their self-graded session.
📋
Quick Notes
Add a per-student note for today — tajweed corrections, behavioural reminders, lesson adjustments.
📊
Session Status
Green/amber/red indicator showing whether the student completed their sessions today.
Teacher · Attendance

Attendance Tracking

Full attendance management lives in WP Admin → HifzIQ Pro → Attendance. Select the class and date, then mark each student. You can also mark all present or all absent in one click, and add a per-student note (e.g. “arrived late due to exam”).

Status options per student:

✓ Present ✗ Absent ⏰ Late 🔵 Excused

Both Present and Late count toward the attendance percentage. Absent and Excused do not.

Export Attendance

Download a CSV of all attendance records for a class and date range. Go to Attendance → select class → set date range → click Export CSV. The file includes: date, student name, status, and any notes.

Teacher · Timetable

Weekly Schedule

Set up your recurring weekly class schedule in WP Admin → HifzIQ Pro → My Schedule. Each slot defines: day of week, class/group, start time, and duration. The Today view uses this schedule to know which students appear each day.

📅
Schedule slots are recurring — set them once and they repeat every week. You do not need to re-enter them daily. Edit or delete individual slots at any time.
Teacher · Notes

Student Notes & Voice Feedback

Text Notes

Add persistent notes to a student’s profile from the student detail panel or the Today view. Notes are visible to the teacher and school admin — students do not see them. Use notes for tajweed weaknesses, lesson plans, or parent communication reminders.

Voice Notes

Record short audio feedback (up to a configured size limit) during or after class. The student can play back the voice note in their own Dashboard under the relevant session. Useful for demonstrating the correct pronunciation of a difficult word when text alone is insufficient.

Teacher · Parents

Parent Portal

Parents can register and be linked to their child’s account so they can monitor progress independently — without needing to ask the teacher for updates.

Linking a Parent

Parent registers at /register/
They register as a regular user (no role selection needed — the default subscriber role is fine).
Teacher links them in admin
Go to WP Admin → HifzIQ Pro → My Students → Parents tab. Select the parent account and the child account and click Link Parent.
Parent accesses the parent portal
They visit /parent/ (or whatever page has
Please log in to view your child's progress.
) and see their child’s streak, Manzil count, session history, weak cards, and attendance.
💡
One parent account can be linked to multiple children. All linked children appear on the parent dashboard as separate cards.
Teacher · Communication

Messaging Students & Parents

Send in-app messages from WP Admin → HifzIQ Pro → Messages. You can message individual students or parents, or broadcast to an entire class. Tick Also send as email to copy the message to their registered email address at the same time.

To a student or parent — use the recipient dropdown and select the individual.

To a class (broadcast) — select the class from the dropdown. All students in that class and their linked parents receive the message.

Email copy — tick the “Also send as email” checkbox to send the message body as an email to the recipient’s registered address. Useful for important announcements they might miss in-app.

🏫 School Guide

School Dashboard

Schools get a dedicated WP Admin panel with oversight of all teachers, students, classes, attendance, fees, and messaging in one place. The school account sits above individual teachers and sees everything.

School · Setup

School Setup Wizard

When a school account is first created, the HifzIQ admin (on hifziq.com) runs the School Setup wizard for that account. This creates the school record, sets the seat count, and optionally configures white-label branding. After setup, the school admin can manage everything independently.

After Setup — First Steps

Log in and open the School Dashboard
School accounts redirect to WP Admin → HifzIQ School on login. This is different from the main HifzIQ Pro menu — it is the school-specific view.
Add your teachers
Go to Users → Add Teacher from the school dashboard. Enter name and email. The teacher receives a welcome email and can then add students.
Create classes and enrol students
Under Classes, create a class (e.g. “Juz Amma Group”), assign a teacher, and then add students to it. Attendance and messaging are then available for that class.
Set up fee tracking (optional)
Go to Fees and add the fee structure for each student or class. Mark payments as they come in and export reports at month end.
School · Users

User Management

Editing a User

From the school dashboard, click a teacher or student name to open their profile. You can update their display name (email addresses cannot be changed — this is a WordPress restriction). You can also reset a student’s progress from here, which clears all cards and sessions and returns them to a blank state.

Deleting a User

Click the delete icon on a user’s row. This permanently removes the user and all their HifzIQ data. This action cannot be undone. A confirmation prompt appears before deletion.

Reassigning a Student to a Different Teacher

Open the student’s profile → Reassign Teacher → select the new teacher from the dropdown. All lesson history and cards remain intact. The student appears in the new teacher’s dashboard immediately.

⚠️
Student seat counts are shared across all teachers in a school. If your school plan allows 25 students and all seats are filled, no teacher can add more students until you upgrade or remove an existing student.
School · Finance

Fee Tracking

HifzIQ’s fee tracker is a lightweight record-keeping tool — not a payment gateway. Use it to log which students have paid their monthly fees, mark outstanding amounts, and export a summary at the end of each period.

Open Fees from the school dashboard
Navigate to School Dashboard → Fees. You will see a list of all enrolled students with their fee status for the current period.
Mark a payment
Click the fee status button next to a student to toggle between Paid / Pending / Overdue. Add an optional note (e.g. “Paid via bank transfer — Ref #4521”).
Export the fee report
Click Export CSV to download a spreadsheet of all students with their fee status, amount, and notes for the selected period.
School · Pricing

To upgrade, go to WP Admin → HifzIQ Pro → 🔑 License and click Re-check License, or contact support@hifziq.com. Your new seat count takes effect immediately after payment.
School · Branding

White-Label Branding

School Unlimited plan customers can apply their own branding to the HifzIQ interface — students see your school’s name, logo, and accent colour instead of HifzIQ’s default branding. White-label settings are configured by the HifzIQ admin when issuing your license key.

Brand Name — replaces “HifzIQ” throughout the interface.

Logo — your school logo (SVG or PNG) shown in the dashboard header and on certificates.

Accent Colour — replaces the default gold (#d4a843) with your school colour (hex value). Applied via a CSS variable so it affects buttons, progress rings, and tier colours.

School · Self-Hosted

School Plugin (Own WordPress Site)

The School Unlimited plan includes the option to install HifzIQ on your own WordPress site. This gives you complete hosting independence and puts your school’s domain on all URLs, emails, and certificates.

Installation

Receive your license key
After subscribing to the School Unlimited plan, you receive a license key by email (HIFZIQ-XXXXXX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX format).
Download and install the school plugin
Download hifziq-school.zip from your account at hifziq.com. Install it on your WordPress site via Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin. Activate it.
Enter your license key
Go to WP Admin → HifzIQ Pro → 🔑 License. Paste your key and click Activate. The plugin validates against hifziq.com, registers your domain, and activates all features.
Automatic plugin updates
Your site checks hifziq.com/wp-json/hifziq-updates/v1/school weekly. When a new version is available, it appears in WP Admin → Dashboard → Updates just like any other plugin — click Update and you’re done.

Domain Lock

Your license is registered to the domain you activate on first. If you move to a new domain (e.g. migrating to a different host), contact support@hifziq.com for a domain transfer. Staging domains (*.local, *.staging.*, *.wpengine.com, etc.) are automatically exempt and do not consume the slot.

🔄
The license re-validates weekly via a background cron job. If your server is temporarily offline, the last valid response is cached and the plugin continues to work for a grace period — it will not deactivate during routine maintenance windows.
